The Hilliard company was formed with the principle that lighting should be functional art, timeless in design and construction. For over 45 years, Hilliard has produced handcrafted, luxury artisan lighting. Each piece crafted by a team of professionally skilled craftspeople in their specialized bronze foundry and glass studio in Arcata, California. Hilliard lamps are signed, numbered and of heirloom quality.
Shortly after meeting in an art class at Humboldt State University in 1974, Noel and Janene Hilliard discovered they both had a passion for creating custom lamps. They began crafting lighting together and in 1975, through their shared desire to create functional art, Lamps by Hilliard was born. Today, their son Samuel Hilliard continues their legacy as President and Principal Designer.
