About New Moon

In 1993, John Kurtz, artist and renowned rug historian, founded New Moon to create original, ethically-produced, fine Tibetan rugs.  As one of the first producers of rugs in Nepal, New Moon has pioneered an unparalleled quality of craftsmanship and unwavering standard of ethical production that is still unequaled today.  Now being led by John’s daughter Erika, New Moon continues to carry forward the thread of one of mankind’s oldest art forms without being merely imitative and without compromising quality or social responsibility.
